Josh Mason is set to make his sportscar debut in 2025, joining Greystone GT for the McLaren Trophy Europe championship. The East Sussex-based driver will team up with Sam Neser in the Pro category, sharing a McLaren Artura Trophy Evo as the Silverstone-based team targets a third consecutive title-winning season.

Josh arrives at the series as a proven name in single-seaters, having competed at the highest levels of junior racing across Europe and North America. A race winner in BRDC British F3, Euroformula Open, and Formula Renault Oceania, his most recent outings included campaigns in the FIA Formula 2 Championship and Indy NXT.

After taking a competitive break in 2024 to focus on completing his Sport Management BA at the University of Roehampton, Josh capped off the year by being named the university’s Sportsman of the Year — a recognition of both his academic and athletic achievements.

Now, with his focus back on the track, Josh is aiming high as he enters a new chapter in GT racing.

“I’m so excited to be making my sportscar racing debut with Greystone GT in the McLaren Trophy Europe,” said Josh. “It’s a high-level series with some hugely experienced drivers – including our team-mates – and it races at some of the best tracks on the continent, including my favourite, Spa-Francorchamps.

The target whenever I move to a new series is to be near the front and I’ve usually managed to do it. GT racing is a new challenge for me and Sam, but I firmly believe we have the potential to win and we’ll be doing everything we can to put ourselves in that position.”

Greystone GT Team Principal Mark McLoughlin added:

“Josh has been a regular race winner in some competitive single-seater series. He and Sam are both very talented and will be able to learn from the established professional drivers in the team. I’m sure they will each make their mark early on.”

Josh and Sam began pre-season testing this week at both Brands Hatch and Silverstone, with their debut scheduled at Brands Hatch on May 4–5 — kicking off what promises to be an exciting return to racing for Josh Mason.
